During today's session I had the opportunity to learn and have fun on Illustrator.
Illustrator is a vector based software unlike Photoshop which is a pixel based software.
pixels are compromised of square of color information.
vectors are based images are defined by computer geometry, and not restricted to pixel information which could be more free and defined. This is because it allows more freedom in editing and could be scaled at a larger scale.
Illustrator works with any other software. e.g. Photoshop or InDesign.
Each shape or letter can be edited massively due to the anchor points which gives it freedom for the user to edit the shape or text how they want to.
There are 2 main tools the selection tool and main selection tool. The selection tool selects the whole object where as the direct select tool selects a specific area, for example the anchors.
USe fill and strokes as it makes the shapes more sophisticated and professional. Strokes adds an outline around the object which can be thick or thin by changing the "pt"
Opacity allows the shape to become transparent which can be usefull when trying to allign with the background.
Layers allow each element be separated and edited individually which can be removed or added at any time.
Area type tool- allows to add text within an area.
Outlines- allows to separate each letter individually.
Colour palette then swatched allows to select a preset of colours of an event or place e.g. beach colours.
TO export make sure we use 300 ppi and export as a PNG.
