There are many pros and cons about this cover page. I will start with the pros and then the cons. Firstly. a 3 colour scheme is evident in the cover page, consisting of the colours red, yellow and white, the same colours as the school logo which is present on the front cover. There has been a use of cover lines in yellow, which stands out from the dark background. Furthermore, the background shows us a typical school basketball field and benches, showing us that the magazine is about school. The masthead of the cover page is oxblood red and is bold and big, making it eye-catching for the audience. The use of a pull quote is evident by which the cover star has a title dedicated to her. Their is a skyline and barcode, which are typical features present in a real magazine. Moreover, a date is present which is also a typical feature of a magazine. However, there are also many flaws with this magazine cover. Firstly, the cover star's face seems slightly blurry, not giving us a clear image of her face. The use of photoshop is blatant by which having the masthead behind the cover star's head shows a sharpness, which looks unprofessional. By having the masthead being oxblood against a dark background (the shaded trees in the background) make it difficult to read the masthead. Additionally, the cover lines have no structure or organization, there is only cover lines with no brief description underneath it, making it less like a magazine. There is also a drop cap with all the cover lines, which is good however by having a drop cap on all the cover lines makes it seem dull and lacking in appeal. By having the cover star's name small in comparison to the cover line can make the reader confused about who the cover star is. Usually with magazines. the cover star's name is bold and big, attracting the readers. But by having it small makes it seem insignificant and making it less like a magazine. The skyline of the magazine is also odd, by which the skyline should normally be a slogan or what the magazine is about (e.g. UK's top pop magazine). The skyline seems more like it should be a cover line. Over and above, even though there is the inclusion of a school logo, there is no website promoting the school or for the reader to visit. Also, by having the "Keep calm and don't stress out" banner on the bottom of the page seems unnecessary. The quote "Keep calm and don't stress out" sounds more like a cover line about exam stress or a skyline. Also by having the magazine as being "free" and having the word "free" on the banner is unusual, as it would usually say something like that at the top of the magazine. Also some of the cover lines lack description e.g. "I'm too stressed". The reader will question what the articles about, a brief description will help them to understand the cover lines. There is also some grammatical errors in the cover lines e.g. Wanna go to Cambridge. The word "wanna" could suggest that your target audience is young, however by looking at the font of the front cover, this is questionable. The cover line should include a question mark,as it is asking the reader. Overall, a good cover with minor flaws and mistakes.

your cover is really good it stands out and is really bright you have a good picture but you could change the blue banner to a different colour because the blue does not match anything your layout for the contents page is amazing its really different one thing you could do to change it is to make the font and text easy to read because your text on the contents page is small
